If you feel powerless then it means you already given you, already quit on yourself, you quit on the process and you're looking for an easy way out. You want to get comfortable, you want an easy life and having tat kind of mentality will make you weak and powerless. The price you have to pay for wanting to become powerful is hard work, facing the challenges and resistance. You have to keep going no matter what, don't think about success, don't think about the finish line because life is a journey, it's a forever process, you have to believe in yourself that one day you're going to make it but for now just survive and do what needs to be done because that is where your power resides the most, you will only feel in control if you will focus on what you can control and that is not giving up, that is going all in every single day and looking for some progress. Because the truth is you're already progressing whenever you are moving, you're already improving so don't stop. Even if you fail a lot of times, even if you're making a lot of mistakes... just don't stop. Make it as your culture... to keep going forever. Go all in, keep pushing and find a way, you will make something work in just a matter of time, something will click, you just need to believe in yourself and trust the process no matter what.
